Make my legs and ankles strong,\par so I can walk fast without stumbling.\par


I hope that all my enemies will be ashamed and embarrassed.\par Those people were happy when bad things happened to me.\par They thought they were better than me!\par So let those people be covered with shame and humiliation.\par


Some people are trying to kill me.\par Disappoint them\par and make them ashamed.\par Make them turn and run away.\par Those people are planning to hurt me.\par \{Defeat them and\} embarrass them.\par


My enemies say bad things about me.\par They are spreading lies and rumors. {\cf2\super [231]} \par They talk about me all the time.\par


Those evil people are trying to kill me.\par Lord, make those people ashamed and disappointed.\par Those people want to hurt me.\par Let them run away in shame!\par


I wish death would take\par my enemies by surprise!\par I wish the earth would open up\par and swallow them alive! {\cf2\super [329]} \par Why? Because they plan\par such terrible things together.\par


Give your worries to the Lord,\par and he will care for you.\par The Lord will never let good people\par be defeated.\par


People are trying to kill me.\par Disappoint them!\par Humiliate them!\par People want to do bad things to me.\par I hope they fall and feel the shame.\par


God, you have such great love for me.\par You save me from the place of death.\par


People who forget God are bad.\par They will go to the place of death.\par


But that did not happen.\par You did not go to the sky with God.\par You were brought down to the deep pit—\par Sheol, {\cf2\super [151]} the place of death.\par


But you, evil king, have been thrown\par from your grave.\par You are like a branch cut from a tree.\par That branch is cut and thrown away.\par You are like a dead man that fell in battle,\par and other soldiers walked on him.\par Now, you look like any other dead person.\par You are wrapped in burial clothes.\par


Sheol, {\cf2\super [148]} \{the place of death\} is excited\par because you are coming.\par Sheol is waking the spirits of all\par the leaders of the earth for you.\par Sheol is making the kings stand\par from their thrones.\par They will be ready for your coming.\par


If a person chases you to kill you, the Lord your God will save your life! But the Lord will throw away your enemies like a stone from a sling! [201]


The Lord will let the Philistines defeat you and the army of Israel today. And tomorrow, you and your sons will be here with me!”
