“Sometimes they will sin against you, and you will stop the rain from falling on their land. Then they will pray toward this place and praise your name. You make them suffer, and they will be sorry for their sins.


When any of these things happen, if even one man is sorry {for his sins} and spreads his hands in prayer toward this temple,


I will not let liars live in my house.\par I will not let liars stay near me.\par


Lord, forgive your people.\par Then there will be people to worship you.\par


Let’s go to the Holy Tent.\par Let’s worship at the stool\par where God rests his feet. {\cf2\super [619]} \par


God, I bow down toward your holy temple.\par I praise your name,\par your true love,\par and your loyalty.\par You are famous \{for the power of\}\par your word.\par Now you have made it even greater!\par

The Lord hates these six, no seven, things:\par


eyes that show a man is proud,\par tongues that tells lies,\par hands that kill innocent people,\par


Evil people should stop living evil lives.\par They should stop thinking bad thoughts.\par They should come to the Lord again.\par Then the Lord will comfort them.\par Those people should come to the Lord\par because our God forgives.\par


Our ancestors worshiped you in\par our holy temple.\par Our temple was so wonderful,\par but now it has been burned in the fire!\par All our precious possessions\par have been destroyed.\par


Daniel always prayed to God three times every day. Three times every day, Daniel got down on his knees and prayed and praised God. When Daniel heard about the new law he went to his house. Daniel went up to his room on the roof of his house. Daniel went to the windows that opened toward Jerusalem. Then Daniel got down on his knees and prayed, like he always did.


After this the people of Israel will come back. Then they will look for the Lord their God, and for David their king. In the last days, they will come to honor the Lord and his goodness.


The church (believers) everywhere in Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace. With the help of the Holy Spirit, {\cf2\super [196]} the group became stronger. The believers showed that they respected the Lord by the way they lived. Because of this, the group of believers grew larger and larger.


Who were those people who heard God’s voice and were against him? It was all those people that Moses led out of Egypt.


“But maybe you don’t want to serve the Lord. You must choose for yourselves today. Today you must decide who you will serve. Will you serve the gods that your ancestors worshiped when they lived on the other side of the Euphrates River? Or will you serve the gods of the Amorite people that lived in this land? You must choose for yourselves. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord!”
