People can’t understand\par the wonderful things God does.\par There is no end to the miracles God does.\par


Your thoughts are important to me.\par God, you know so much!\par


If I could count them,\par they would be more\par than all the grains of sand.\par And when I finished,\par I would still be with you.\par


I am not complaining about your sacrifices. {\cf2\super [299]} \par You people of Israel bring me your\par burnt offerings all the time.\par You give them to me every day.\par


You don’t really want sacrifices. {\cf2\super [305]} \par So why should I give sacrifices\par that you don’t even want!\par


I will tell people how good you are.I will tell about the times you saved me.That has happenedtoo many times to count.


If this happens, then the master will bring the slave before God. The master will take the slave to a door or the wooden frame around the door. And the master will make a hole through the slave’s ear using a sharp tool. Then the slave will serve that master for all his life.


\{God says,\} “Why do you continue giving me all these sacrifices? {\cf2\super [7]} I have had enough of your sacrifices of goats and fat from bulls, sheep, and goats.


Lord, you are my God.\par I honor you and praise your name.\par You have done amazing things.\par The words you said long ago\par are completely true.\par Everything has happened\par exactly as you said it would.\par


Some people kill bulls \{as a sacrifice\},\par but they also beat people.\par Those people kill sheep as a sacrifice,\par but they also break the necks of dogs!\par Those people offer up grain offerings,\par but they also offer the blood of pigs! {\cf2\super [475]} \par Those people burn incense, {\cf2\super [476]} \par but they also love their worthless idols. {\cf2\super [477]} \par Those people choose their own ways.\par And they also love their terrible idols.\par


Why? Because I want faithful love,\par not sacrifice,\par \{I want people\} to know God,\par not \{to bring\} burnt offerings.\par


Even if you offer me burnt offerings\par and grain offerings,\par I will not accept them!\par I will not even look at the fat animals\par you give as fellowship offerings.\par


The Scripture {\cf2\super [156]} says, ‘I don’t want animal sacrifices; I want you to show kindness to people.’ {\cf2\super [157]} You don’t really know what those words mean. If you understood those words, then you would not judge those people that have done nothing wrong.


I will tell you something. Go and learn what it means: ‘I don’t want animal sacrifices; I want you to show kindness to people.’ {\cf2\super [106]} I did not come to invite good people. I came to invite sinners.”


But Samuel answered, “Which pleases the Lord more: burnt offerings and sacrifices [138] or obeying the Lord’s command? It is better to obey God than to offer sacrifices to him. It is better to listen to God than to offer the fat from rams.
