You will work hard for your food, until your face is covered with sweat. You will work hard until the day you die. And then you will become dust again. I used dust to make you. And when you die you will become dust again.”


So that person becomes strong\par like a tree planted by streams of water\par He is like a tree that makes fruit\par at the right time.\par He is like a tree with leaves that don’t die.\par Everything he does is successful.\par


Let the people my enemy owes money to\par take everything he owns.\par Let strangers take everything he worked for.\par


A sinner might do a hundred evil things. And he might have a long life. But I know that it is still better to obey and respect God.


Tell the good people that good things will happen to them. They will receive a reward for the good things they do.


The Lord made a promise.\par The Lord used his own power as proof.\par And the Lord will use his power\par to keep that promise.\par


So the Lord my Master said these things.\par “My servants will eat,\par but you evil people will be hungry.\par My servants will drink,\par but you evil people will be thirsty.\par My servants will be happy,\par but you evil people will be shamed.\par


“Jehoiakim,\par having a lot of cedar in your house\par does not make you a great king.\par Your father Josiah was satisfied\par to have food and drink.\par He did what was right and fair.\par Josiah did that,\par so everything went well for him.\par


So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.


That promise is: “Then everything will be fine with you. And you will have a long life on the earth.” {\cf2\super [45]}


“And the Lord will give you many good things. He will give you many children. He will give your cows many calves. He will give you a good harvest in the land that the Lord promised your ancestors [181] to give you.


You will plant fields of grapes and work hard in them. But you will not gather the grapes or drink the wine from them. Why? Because the worms will eat them.


The Lord will bless you and give you many children. He will bless your land and give you good crops. He will bless your animals and let them have many babies. He will bless all your calves and lambs.


They will take your animals and the food you grow. They will take everything until they destroy you. They will not leave you any grain, wine, oil, cows, sheep or goats. They will take everything, until they destroy you.


“The Lord will bless you and fill your barns. He will bless everything you do. The Lord your God will bless you in the land that he is giving you.
