So that night the two girls got their father drunk with wine. Then the younger daughter went into his bed and had sexual relations with him. Again, Lot {was so drunk} that he did not know when she came to bed or when she got up.


So they hanged Haman on the hanging post he had built for Mordecai. Then the king stopped being angry.


He will save you from six troubles.\par Yes, might endure seven disasters\par and not be hurt!\par


Good people might have many problems,\par but the Lord will save them\par from every one of their problems.\par


But troubles will kill evil people.\par The enemies of good people\par will all be destroyed.\par


If the soldier runs and attacks his enemy,\par then the Lord holds the soldier’s hand,\par and keeps him from falling.\par


So God will ruin you forever!\par He will grab you\par and pull you from your home, {\cf2\super [313]} \par like a person pulling a plant\par out of the ground, roots and all! {\cf2\super [314]} \par


They will receive the punishment\par they should get.\par They were cruel to other people.\par But they will get what they deserve.\par


God, punish the people around us\par seven times for what they did to us.\par Punish those people for insulting you.\par


If a messenger cannot be trusted, then there will be trouble around him. But if a person can be trusted, then there will be peace.


Trouble chases sinners wherever they go. But good things happen to good people.


During times of trouble, evil people are defeated. But good people win a victory even during death.


Why? Because men like that can quickly be destroyed. You don’t know how much trouble God and the king can make for their enemies.


\{But he will be punished.\} All of a sudden, disaster will strike. He will suddenly be destroyed! And there will be no one to help him!


I will scatter the people of Judah.\par They will run from their enemies.\par I will scatter the people of Judah like\par an east wind that blows things away.\par I will destroy those people.\par They won’t see me coming to help them.\par No! They will see me leaving!”\par


Jeremiah, say this to the people of Judah:\par


The Lord my Master said these things. “There will be one disaster after another!


The virgin {\cf2\super [58]} of Israel has fallen.\par She will not get up any more.\par She was left alone, lying in the dirt.\par There is no person to lift her up.\par


But if you don’t do these things, then you will be sinning against the Lord. And know for sure that you will be punished for your sin.


Herod \{accepted this praise and\} did not give the glory to God. So an angel of the Lord caused him to become sick. He was eaten by worms inside him, and he died.


People will say, “We have peace and we are safe.” At that time destruction will come to them quickly. Destruction will come like the pains of a woman who is having a baby. And those people will not escape.


Surely as the Lord lives, the Lord himself will punish Saul. Maybe Saul will die naturally or maybe Saul will be killed in battle.


Saul said to the servant that carried his armor, “Take your sword and kill me. Then those foreigners can’t hurt me and make fun of me.” But Saul’s helper was scared and refused to kill him.
