The Gibeonites said to David, “There isn’t enough gold and silver for Saul’s family to pay for what they did. But we don’t have the right to kill any person in Israel.”


“If a person is a murderer, then he must be put to death. Don’t take money and change his punishment. That murderer must be killed.


“Don’t let your land be ruined with innocent blood. If a person murders someone, then the only payment for that crime is that the murderer must be killed! There is no other payment that will free the land from that crime.


Jesus is the only One who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. We must be saved through Jesus!”


This gift is from God, and it is very important to me. Why? Because if law could make us right with God, then Christ did not have to die.


But this is not true, because the Scriptures {\cf2\super [42]} showed that all people are bound by sin. Why did the Scriptures do this? So that the promise would be given to people through faith. The promise is given to people who believe in Jesus Christ.
