7 The people must also give the drink offerings that go with the offerings made by fire. They must give 1 quart [329] of wine with every lamb. Pour that drink offering {on the altar} in the Holy Place. This is a gift to the Lord.

“You must burn these things as an offering to the Lord every day. Do this at the entrance of the Meeting Tent [284] before the Lord. Continue to do this for all time. When you make the offering, I the Lord will meet you there and speak to you.


Don’t use this altar for offering any other kind of incense or burnt offering. Don’t use this altar to offer any kind of grain offering or drink offering.


You love to worship the smooth rocks\par in the rivers.\par You pour wine on them to worship them.\par You give sacrifices {\cf2\super [440]} to them,\par but those rocks are all you get.\par Do you think this makes me happy?\par \{No! It does not make me happy.\}\par You make your bed on every hill\par and high mountain. {\cf2\super [441]} \par


Priests, put on your clothes of sadness\par and cry loudly.\par Servants of the altar, {\cf2\super [5]} cry loudly.\par Servants of my God, you will sleep\par in your clothes of sadness.\par Why? Because there will be no more\par grain and drink offerings\par in God’s temple. {\cf2\super [6]} \par

The priest must wash the legs and inside parts of the animal with water. Then the priest must burn all the animal’s parts on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire. Its smell pleases the Lord.


You must also offer a grain offering of 16 cups [402] of fine flour mixed with olive oil. You must also offer 1 quart [403] of wine. The smell of that offering will please the Lord.


Also bring 2 quarts of wine as a drink offering. This will be an offering made by fire. Its smell will please the Lord.


Each time you offer a lamb as a burnt offering, you must also prepare a quart of wine as a drink offering.


And you must prepare 1 1/4 quarts of wine as a drink offering. Its smell will please the Lord.


The drink offering will be 2 quarts [336] of wine with each bull, 1 1/4 quarts [337] of wine with the ram, and 1 quart [338] of wine with each lamb. That is the burnt offering that must be offered each and every month of the year.


You must give those offerings in addition to the daily burnt offerings and the grain offering you give with them. Be sure there is nothing wrong with the animals or the drink offerings that you give with them.


(They started giving the daily offerings at Mount Sinai. They were offerings made by fire. Their smell pleased the Lord.)


Offer the second lamb at twilight. [330] Offer it just like the morning offering. Also give the drink offering that goes with it. This will be an offering made by fire. Its smell will please the Lord.”


Your faith makes you give your lives as a sacrifice {\cf2\super [13]} in serving God. Maybe I will have to offer my own blood (death) with your sacrifice. But if that happens, I will be happy and full of joy with all of you.
