Evil people might attack me.\par They might try to destroy my body.\par My enemies might try to attack\par and destroy me.\par


There are people whose teeth are like swords. Their jaws are like knives. They use their time to take everything they can from poor people.


The Lord will give his judgment against the elders {\cf2\super [32]} and leaders for the things they have done.


What gives you the right to hurt my people? What gives you the right to push the faces of the poor people into the dirt?” My Master, the Lord All-Powerful said these things.


These men say, ‘We will be building our houses again very soon. \{We are as safe in this city as\} meat in a pot!’


Put in the pieces of meat.\par Put in every good piece,\par the thighs and the shoulders.\par Fill the pot with the best bones.\par


Listen to me!\par You people walk on helpless people.\par You are trying to destroy the poor people of this country.\par

Jerusalem’s leaders are like roaring lions. Her judges {\cf2\super [19]} are like hungry wolves that come in the evening \{to attack the sheep\}—and in the morning nothing is left.
