Moses told Aaron why the Lord had sent him. And Moses told Aaron about all the miracles and things he must do to prove that God had sent him. Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had said.


“We will not listen to the message from the Lord that you spoke to us.


“Go to that big city Nineveh, and preach the things that I tell you.”


But Hobab answered, “No, I will not go with you. I will go back to my homeland and to my own people.”


“Tell me what you think about this: There was a man that had two sons. The man went to the first son and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’


“Then the father went to the other son and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ The son answered, ‘Yes, sir, I will go and work.’ But the son did not go.


“Which of the two sons obeyed his father?”


I began telling people that they should change their hearts and lives and turn back to God. I told the people to do things that show that they really changed their hearts. I told these things first to people in Damascus. Then I went to Jerusalem and to every part of Judea and told these things to the people there. I also went to the non-Jewish people.


In the past, some of you were like that. But you were washed clean, you were made holy, {\cf2\super [36]} and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
