All this happened to make clear the full meaning of the things the Lord said through the prophet {\cf2\super [14]} :


But this thing must happen this way so that it will be like the Scriptures {\cf2\super [410]} said.”


Then Jesus said to all the people, “You came to get me with swords and clubs like I am a criminal. Every day I sat in the temple {\cf2\super [411]} area teaching. You did not arrest me there.


But all these things have happened so that it will be like the prophets {\cf2\super [412]} wrote.” Then all of Jesus’ followers left him and ran away.


Then Jesus left that place. He went into the area of Judea and across the Jordan River. Again, many people came to him. And Jesus taught the people like he always did.


Jesus and his followers went again to Jerusalem. Jesus was walking in the temple {\cf2\super [149]} area. The leading priests, the teachers of the law, and the older Jewish leaders came to Jesus.


Jesus was teaching in the temple {\cf2\super [171]} area. Jesus asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Christ {\cf2\super [172]} is the son of David {\cf2\super [173]} ?


Then Jesus said, “You came to get me with swords and clubs like I am a criminal.


Then all of Jesus’ followers left him and ran away.


Jesus taught the people in the temple {\cf2\super [309]} area every day. The leading priests, the teachers of the law, and some of the leaders of the people wanted to kill Jesus.


The Scripture {\cf2\super [356]} says:


Jesus was in the temple {\cf2\super [166]} area at Solomon’s Porch. {\cf2\super [167]}


Jesus answered, “I have always spoken openly to all people. I always taught in the synagogues {\cf2\super [232]} and in the temple {\cf2\super [233]} area. All the Jews come together there. I never said anything in secret.


The last day of the festival came. It was the most important day. On that day Jesus stood and said with a loud voice, “If a person is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.


Later, Jesus talked to the people again. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. The person that follows me will never live in darkness. That person will have the light that gives life.”


Early in the morning Jesus went back to the temple {\cf2\super [128]} area. All the people came to Jesus. Jesus sat and taught the people.
