At the same time, the Lord began to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. The Lord caused fire and burning sulfur to fall out of the sky from the Lord.


So the Lord destroyed those cities. The Lord destroyed the whole valley—all the plants and all the people living in the cities.


At that time, the common people and the priests will be the same. Slaves and masters will be the same. Women slaves and their women masters will be the same. The buyers and sellers will be the same. The people that borrow and the people that lend will be the same. The bankers and the people that owe the bank will be the same.


Let that man be the same as\par the cities that the Lord destroyed. {\cf2\super [166]} \par The Lord did not have any pity\par on those cities.\par Let that man hear shouts of war\par in the morning.\par And let him hear battle cries\par at noontime.\par


Now I have seen the prophets of Judah\par do those terrible things in Jerusalem.\par These prophets do the sin of adultery. {\cf2\super [187]} \par They listened to lies—and they obeyed\par those false teachings.\par They encourage wicked people\par to continue doing evil things.\par So the people did not stop sinning.\par They are like the people of Sodom {\cf2\super [188]} .\par Now Jerusalem is like Gomorrah {\cf2\super [189]} to me.”\par


The people that were killed by the sword\par had it better than\par the people that were killed by famine.\par The starving people were very sad.\par They were hurt.\par They died because they got no food\par from the field.\par


“This king will be very smart and tricky. He will use his wisdom and lies to be successful. He will think that he is very important. He will destroy many people, when they least expect it. He will try to fight even the Prince of Princes (God). But that cruel king’s power will be destroyed. And it will not be a human hand that destroys him.


“God said those things would happen to us and our leaders—and he made them happen. He made terrible things happen to us. No other city suffered the way Jerusalem suffered.


Why? Because at that time there will be much trouble. There will be more trouble than has ever happened since the beginning of the world. And nothing as bad as that will ever happen again.


I tell you, on the judgment day it will be worse for the people of that town than for the people of Sodom. {\cf2\super [180]}


“That servant knew what his master wanted him to do. But that servant did not make himself ready or try to do what his master wanted. So that servant will be punished very much!
