Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and made a man. [9] The Lord breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living thing.


God’s Spirit made me.\par My life comes from \{God\} All-Powerful.\par


The Lord spoke the command,\par and the world was made.\par The breath from God’s mouth\par created everything on earth.\par


Then the Lord my Master said to me, “Speak to the wind {\cf2\super [289]} for me. Son of man, {\cf2\super [290]} speak to the wind for me. Tell the wind that the Lord and Master says these things: ‘Wind, come from every direction and breathe air into these dead bodies! Breathe into them and they will come to life again!’”


I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. {\cf2\super [213]} He will give you this Helper to be with you forever.


But I tell you the truth. It is better for you that I go away. Why? Because when I go away I will send the Helper {\cf2\super [223]} to you. But if I did not go away, then the Helper would not come.


Then Jesus said again, “Peace be with you! The Father sent me. In the same way, I now send you.”


If you forgive people’s sins, then their sins are forgiven. If you don’t forgive people’s sins, then their sins are not forgiven.”


Jesus was talking about the \{Holy\} Spirit. {\cf2\super [115]} The Spirit had not yet been given to people, because Jesus had not yet \{died and\} been raised to glory. But later, those people that believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit.


“We cannot refuse to allow these people to be baptized {\cf2\super [217]} in water. They have received the Holy Spirit the same as we did!”


Paul asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [376]} when you believed?”


Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, {\cf2\super [42]} each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [43]}


They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, {\cf2\super [18]} and they began to speak different languages. The Holy Spirit was giving them the power to do this.


Then Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [67]} He said to them, “Leaders of the people and you older leaders:


When Peter and John arrived, they prayed for the Samaritan believers to receive the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [163]}


Tell me this one thing: How did you receive the Spirit {\cf2\super [19]} ? Did you receive the Spirit by following the law {\cf2\super [20]} ? No! You received the Spirit because you heard \{the Good News {\cf2\super [21]} \} and believed it.
