Job, do you think we don’t have\par an answer for you?\par Do you think no one will warn you\par when you laugh at God?\par


People that don’t have troubles\par make fun of people who do have them.\par Those people hit a man when he is down.\par


I am ready now to defend myself.\par I will carefully present my arguments.\par I know I will be shown to be right.\par


People have crowded around me.\par They make fun of me and slap my face.\par


My friend speaks for me\par while my eyes pour out tears to God.\par


People stand around meand laugh at me.I watch them as they teaseand insult me.


God has made my name\par a bad word to everyone.\par People spit in my face.\par


Be patient while I speak.\par Then after I have finished speaking,\par you may make fun of me.\par


But now, even the men who are younger than I am are making fun of me.\par And their fathers were so worthless\par that I wouldn’t put them with the dogs\par guarding my sheep.\par


“Now those men’s sons\par sing songs about me to make fun of me.\par My name has become a bad word to them.\par


“Is there any other person like Job?\par Job does not care if you insult him.\par


So now, change your mind.\par Don’t be unfair, think again.\par I have done nothing wrong.\par


I am innocent.\par But I don’t know what to think.\par I hate my own life.\par


They used bad language\par and made fun of me.\par Those people showed they were angry at me by grinding their teeth.\par


My followers will call to me for help,\par and I will answer them.\par I will be with them when they have trouble.\par I will rescue them and honor them.\par


The person who lives right respects the Lord. But the person who is not honest hates the Lord.


Lord, you tricked me,\par and I certainly was fooled.\par You are stronger than I am,\par so you won.\par I have become a joke.\par People laugh at me\par and make fun of me all day long.\par


“Judah, pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets. You have never heard these things before.


So I will look to the Lord \{for help\}!\par I will wait for God to save me.\par My God will hear me.\par


Then the soldiers used thorny branches to make a crown. They put this crown of thorns on Jesus’ head, and they put a stick in his right hand. Then the soldiers bowed before Jesus and teased him. They said, “Hello, king of the Jews!”


Jesus said, “Go away. The girl is not dead. She is only asleep.” But the people laughed at Jesus.


But all the people laughed at Jesus. Jesus told the people to leave the house. Then Jesus went into the room where the child was. He brought the child’s father and mother and his three followers into the room with him.


The Pharisees {\cf2\super [262]} were listening to all these things. The Pharisees criticized Jesus because they all loved money.


When the people heard about \{Jesus\} being raised from death, some of them laughed. The people said, “We will hear more about this from you later.”


Some people were laughed at and beaten. Other people were tied and put into prison.
