God gave the command,\par and the locusts and grasshoppers came.\par There were too many to count!\par


But, listen to the message from the Lord, all you people of Judah that are living in Egypt: ‘I use my great name and make this promise: I promise none of the people of Judah that are now living in Egypt will ever again use my name to make promises. They will never again say, “As surely as the Lord lives,”


The Lord says these things.\par “They will chop down Egypt’s\par forest (army).\par There are many trees (soldiers)\par in that forest (army)\par but they will all be cut down.\par There are more enemy soldiers than locusts. {\cf2\super [368]} \par There are so many soldiers,\par that no person can count them.\par


The Lord says, “By my own power, I make this promise: I promise that the city of Bozrah will be destroyed. That city will become a ruined pile of rocks. People will use that city as an example when they ask for bad things to happen to other cities. People will insult that city. And all the towns around Bozrah will become ruins forever.”


Soldiers around Babylon,\par shout the cry of victory!\par Babylon has surrendered!\par Her walls and towers\par have been pulled down!\par The Lord is giving those people\par the punishment they should have.\par You nations should give Babylon\par the punishment she deserves.\par Do to her what she has done\par to other nations.\par


“Lift up the war flag in the land!\par Blow the trumpet in all the nations!\par Prepare the nations for war against Babylon!\par Call these kingdoms to come fight\par against Babylon:\par Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz.\par Choose a commander to lead the army\par against her.\par Send so many horses\par that they are like a swarm of locusts. {\cf2\super [422]} \par


“I, the Lord, sent my army against you.\par The swarming locusts\par and the hopping locusts\par and the destroying locusts\par and the cutting locusts {\cf2\super [20]} \par ate everything you had.\par But I, the Lord, will pay you back\par for those years \{of trouble\}.\par


The Lord my Master used his own name and made a promise. The Lord God All-Powerful made this promise:


Any person who lives on milk is still a baby. That person knows nothing about right teaching.


The people of Midian came up and camped in the land. They brought their families and their animals with them. They were as many as swarms of locusts! There were so many of those people and their camels that it was not possible to count them. All of these people came into the land and ruined it.
