People now ask blessings from the earth.\par \{But in the future,\} they will ask blessings\par from the faithful God.\par People now trust in the power of the earth\par when they make a promise.\par \{But in the future,\} they will trust\par in the faithful God.\par Why? Because the troubles in the past\par will all be forgotten.\par My people will never again\par remember those troubles.\par
I want those people to learn their lessons well. In the past, those people taught my people to use Baal’s {\cf2\super [102]} name to make promises. Now, I want those people to learn their lessons just as well. I want those people to learn to use my name. I want those people to say, ‘As the Lord lives …’ If those people do that, then I will allow them to be successful and I will let them live among my people.
Lord, you are my strength\par and my protection.\par You are a safe place to run to\par in time of trouble.\par The nations will come to you\par from all around the world.\par They will say,\par “Our fathers had false gods.\par They worshiped those worthless idols,\par but those idols did not help them at all.”\par
But if someone wants to brag,\par then let him brag about these things:\par Let him brag that he learned to know me.\par Let him brag that he understands\par that I am the Lord\par that I am kind and fair and\par that I do good things on earth.\par I love those things.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par
The Scriptures told what would happen in the future. These writings said that God would make the non-Jewish people right through their faith. God told this Good News {\cf2\super [26]} to Abraham before it happened. God said to Abraham, “I will use you to bless all the people on earth.” {\cf2\super [27]}
