Then David praised the Lord in front of all of the people who were gathered together. David said:


God led those people straight to the city\par where they would live.\par


He lets me lie down in green pastures.\par He leads me by calm pools of water.\par


And I will make him my firstborn {\cf2\super [508]} son.\par He will be the great king on earth.\par


Then you should say to Pharaoh:


Then I will lead the blind people\par in a way they never knew.\par I will lead the blind people\par to places they have never been before.\par I will change darkness into light for them.\par And I will make the rough ground smooth.\par I will do the things I promised!\par And I will not leave my people.\par


Even the wild animals will be thankful to me. The large animals and birds will honor me. They will honor me when I put water in the desert. They will honor me when I make rivers in the dry land. I will do this to give water to my people—the people I chose.


The Lord God is the Holy One of Israel. He made Israel. And the Lord says,


Clear the road! Clear the road!\par Make the way clear for my people!\par


The Lord led the people\par through the deep seas.\par The people walked without falling,\par like a horse walking through the desert.\par


Look! You are our father!\par Abraham doesn’t know us.\par Israel (Jacob) does not recognize us.\par Lord, you are our father!\par You are the One who has always saved us!\par


But Lord, you are our father.\par We are like clay.\par And you are the potter. {\cf2\super [464]} \par Your hands made us all.\par


“I, the Lord, said to myself,\par ‘I want to treat you like my own children.\par I want to give you a pleasant land,\par a land more beautiful\par than any other nation.’\par I thought that you would call me ‘Father.’\par I thought that you would always follow me.\par


But now you are calling me, ‘Father.’\par You said,\par ‘You have been my friend\par since I was a child.’\par


\{God says,\}\par “You know that Ephraim {\cf2\super [255]} is my dear son.\par I love that child.\par Yes, I often criticized Ephraim,\par but I still think about him.\par I love him very much.\par And I really do want to comfort him.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par


The Lord says,\par “At that time, the people of Israel\par and the people of Judah will be together.\par They will cry and cry together.\par And together, they will go to look\par for the Lord their God.\par


Jacob wrestled with God’s angel and won. {\cf2\super [131]} He cried and asked for a favor. That happened at Bethel. At that place, he spoke with us.


After this the people of Israel will come back. Then they will look for the Lord their God, and for David their king. In the last days, they will come to honor the Lord and his goodness.


We all have the same father (God). The same God made every one of us! So why do people cheat their brothers? Those people show that they don’t respect the Agreement. They don’t respect the Agreement that our ancestors made with God.


“The flag of the camp of Ephraim will be on the west side. The family groups of Ephraim will camp there. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.


John the Baptizer is the one that Isaiah the prophet {\cf2\super [34]} was talking about. Isaiah said:


What great blessings there are for the people that are sad now!\par God will comfort them.\par


So when you pray, you should pray like this:


What great blessings there are for you people that are hungry now!\par You will be filled.\par What great blessings there are for you people that are crying now!\par You will be \{happy and\} laughing.\par


Also, the Spirit {\cf2\super [68]} helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray like we should. But the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. The Spirit begs God for us. The Spirit speaks to God with deep feelings that words cannot explain.


“I will be your father,\par and you will be my sons and daughters,\par says the Lord All-Powerful.”\par \i (2 Samuel 7:8,14)\i0 \par


“You are the children of the Lord your God. When someone dies, you must not cut yourselves or shave your heads to show your sadness.


Is that the way you should pay back the Lord {for all that he did for you? No!} You are stupid, foolish people. The Lord is your Father. He made you. He is your Creator. He supports you.


Walk (live) in the right way so that you will be saved and your weakness will not cause you to be lost.


You have come to the meeting of God’s firstborn {\cf2\super [167]} children. Their names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all people. And you have come to the spirits of good people who have been made perfect.


While Christ lived on earth he prayed to God and asked God for help. God is the One who could save him from death, and Jesus prayed to God with loud cries and tears. And God answered Jesus’ prayers because Jesus was humble and did everything God wanted.


The Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of water that give life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
