22 The Lord All-Powerful said, “I will soon punish those men from Anathoth. Their young men will die in war. Their sons and daughters will die from hunger.
22 therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:
22 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and their daughters will die by famine;
22 therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;
22 Therefore, the LORD of heavenly forces proclaims, I’m going to punish them. Their young men will die in war, and their sons and daughters will die by famine.
22 Because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will visit upon them. Their young men will die by the sword. Their sons and their daughters will die by famine.
22 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will visit upon them: and their young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine.
So God brought the King of Babylon to attack the people of Judah and Jerusalem. {\cf2\super [455]} The king of Babylon killed the young men even when they were in the temple. He didn’t have mercy on the people of Judah and Jerusalem. The king of Babylon killed young and old people. He killed men and women. He killed sick and healthy people. God permitted Nebuchadnezzar to punish the people of Judah and Jerusalem.
So make their children starve in a famine. {\cf2\super [154]} \par Let their enemies defeat them with swords.\par Let their wives be without children.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Make their wives into widows.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Let the young men be killed in battle.\par
I will punish those people that have gone to live in Egypt. I will use swords, hunger, and terrible sicknesses to punish them. I will punish those people just like I punished the city of Jerusalem.
So the young men will die\par in the public squares of that city.\par All of her soldiers will be killed at that time.”\par The Lord All-Powerful said these things.\par
‘Death has come.\par Death climbed in through our windows.\par Death came into our palaces. {\cf2\super [78]} \par Death has come to our children\par that play in the streets.\par Death has come to the young men\par that meet in the public places.’\par
Young men and old men\par lie on the ground in the streets\par of the city.\par My young women and young men\par have been killed by the sword.\par You, Lord, killed them on the day\par of your anger!\par You killed them without mercy!\par
“I sent diseases against you, like I did to Egypt. I killed your young men with swords. I took away your horses. I made your camp smell very bad \{from all the dead bodies\}. But still you didn’t come back to me \{for help\}.” The Lord said those things.
