God, you are famous.\par People praise you everywhere on earth.\par Everyone knows how good you are.\par


Then Moses said to God, “But if I go to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors [19] sent me,’ then the people will ask, ‘What is his name?’ What should I tell them?”


Then the Lord answered, “I will cause my perfect Goodness to go before you. I am the Lord and I will announce my name so that you can hear it. Why? Because I can show my kindness and love to any person I choose.


“I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They called me El Shaddai (God All-Powerful). They did not know my name, YAHWEH (Lord).


Zion, {\cf2\super [374]} you have good news to tell.\par Go up on a high mountain\par and shout the good news!\par Jerusalem, you have good news to tell.\par Don’t be afraid, speak loudly!\par


In the beginning,\par I said some things would happen,\par and those things happened!\par And now, before it happens,\par I am telling you about some things\par that will happen in the future.”\par


Kings will be teachers to your children.\par Kings’ daughters will care for them.\par Those kings and their daughters\par will bow down to you.\par They will kiss the dirt at your feet.\par Then you will know\par that I am the Lord.\par Then you will know\par that any person who trusts in me\par will not be disappointed.”\par


Nations \{will give you everything you need\}.\par It will be like a child\par drinking milk from its mother.\par But you will ‘drink’ riches from kings.\par Then you will know that it is I, the Lord,\par who saves you.\par You will know that the Great God of Jacob protects you.\par


People will not have to teach their neighbors and relatives to know the Lord. Why? Because all people, from the least important to the greatest, will know me.” This message is from the Lord. “I will forgive them for the bad things they did. I won’t remember their sins.”


Family of Israel, you did many bad things. And you should be destroyed because of those bad things. But to protect my good name, I won’t give you the punishment you really deserve. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” The Lord my Master said these things.


God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If the Lord says he will do something, then he will do it. If the Lord makes a promise, then he will do the thing he promised.
