May all people serve you. May nations bow down to you. You will rule over your brothers. Your mother’s sons will bow down to you and obey you.


The leaders of the nations meet together\par with the people of the God of Abraham.\par All of the leaders of all the nations\par belong to God.\par God is over them all!\par


Make them bring wealth from Egypt.\par God, make the Ethiopians bring their wealth to you.\par


You know my shame.\par You know my enemies humiliated me.\par You saw them do those things to me.\par


\{In the future,\} the Lord will again show his love to Jacob. The Lord will again choose the people of Israel. \{At that time,\} the Lord will give those people their land. Then non-Jewish people {\cf2\super [146]} will join themselves to the Jewish people. Both people will join and become one family—Jacob’s family.


At that time, the people in Egypt will truly know the Lord. The people of Egypt will love God. The people will serve God and give many sacrifices. {\cf2\super [194]} They will make promises {\cf2\super [195]} to the Lord. And they will keep those promises.


At that time, there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. {\cf2\super [196]} Then people from Assyria will go to Egypt, and people from Egypt will go to Assyria. Egypt will work with Assyria. {\cf2\super [197]}


Many of my people are now lost in Assyria. {\cf2\super [255]} Some of my people have run away to Egypt. But at that time, a great trumpet will be blown. And all those people will come back to Jerusalem. Those people will bow down before the Lord on that holy mountain.


“Look at my Servant!\par I support him.\par He is the one I chose.\par And I am very pleased with him.\par I put my Spirit in him.\par He will judge the nations fairly.\par


The Lord, the Savior, the Holy One of Israel, says,\par


These are not things that happened long ago.\par These are things that are happening now.\par You haven’t heard about these things\par before today.\par So you can’t say,\par ‘We already knew that.’\par


All you people in faraway places,\par listen to me!\par Listen all of you people living on earth!\par The Lord called me to serve him\par before I was born.\par The Lord called my name\par while I was still in my mother’s body.\par


Kings will be teachers to your children.\par Kings’ daughters will care for them.\par Those kings and their daughters\par will bow down to you.\par They will kiss the dirt at your feet.\par Then you will know\par that I am the Lord.\par Then you will know\par that any person who trusts in me\par will not be disappointed.”\par


“Those people hurt you.\par But I will force those people\par to eat their own bodies.\par Their own blood will be\par the wine that makes them drunk.\par Then every person will know that\par the Lord saved you.\par All people will know that\par the Powerful One of Jacob saved you.”\par


I will let those people beat me. I will let them pull the hair from my beard. I will not hide my face when they say bad things to me and spit at me.


People made fun of him, and his friends left him. He was a man that had much pain. He knew sickness very well. People did not even give him the honor of looking at him. We did not even notice him.


Children from other lands\par will build your walls again.\par Their kings will serve you.\par


Nations \{will give you everything you need\}.\par It will be like a child\par drinking milk from its mother.\par But you will ‘drink’ riches from kings.\par Then you will know that it is I, the Lord,\par who saves you.\par You will know that the Great God of Jacob protects you.\par

Then they spit in Jesus’ face. And they hit him with their fists. Other people slapped Jesus.


Who is more important: the person sitting at the table or the person serving him? You think the person sitting at the table is more important. But I am like a servant among you!


But all the people shouted, “Kill him! Let Barabbas go free!”


But the people continued to shout. They demanded that Jesus be killed on the cross. Their shouting became so loud that


The people stood there watching \{Jesus\}. The Jewish leaders laughed at Jesus. They said, “If he is God’s Chosen One, the Christ, {\cf2\super [378]} then let him save himself. He saved other people, didn’t he?”


They yelled, “Take him away! Take him away! Kill him on a cross!”


When the leading priests and the Jewish guards saw Jesus they yelled, “Kill him on a cross! Kill him on a cross!”


God is faithful. He is the One who has called you to share life with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.


“So remember that the Lord your God is the only God, and you can trust him! He keeps his Agreement. He shows his love and kindness to all people who love him and obey his commands. He continues to show his love and kindness through a thousand generations.


The Lord \{Jesus\} is the “stone {\cf2\super [13]} ” that lives. The people \{of the world\} decided they did not want that stone (Jesus). But he was the stone God chose. To God he was worth much. So come to him.


The seventh angel blew his trumpet. Then there were loud voices in heaven. The voices said:
