Isaiah 44:7 - Easy To Read Version

7 There is no other God like me. If there is, then that god should speak now. That god should come and show proof that he is like me. That god should tell me what has happened since the time I made these ancient people. That god should give signs to show that he knows what will happen in the future.

Egypt, where are your wise men? Those wise men should learn what the Lord All-Powerful has planned for Egypt. They should be the people to tell you what will happen.


\{Your statues (false gods) should come and tell us what is happening.


Tell us the things we should look for to know what will happen. Then we will believe that you really are gods. Do something! Do anything, good or bad! Then we will see that you are alive. And we will follow you.


Who told us about this before it happened?\par We should call him God. {\cf2\super [379]} \par \{Did one of your statues\par tell us these things\}?\par No! None of those statues\par told us anything.\par Those statues did not say a word—\par and those false gods can’t hear\par the words that you say.\par


Who caused \{these things to happen\}?\par Who did this?\par Who called all people from the beginning?\par \{I, the Lord, did these things\}!\par I, the Lord, am the first.\par I was here before the beginning.\par And I will be here when all things\par are finished.\par


I am the One who spoke to you. I saved you. I told you those things. It was not some stranger that was with you. You are my witnesses, and I am God.” (The Lord himself said these things.)


All people and all nations should also be gathered together. Maybe \{one of their false gods\} wants to tell about what happened in the beginning. They should bring their witnesses. The witnesses should speak the truth. This will show they are right.”


Tell these people to come to me. Let them present their case and discuss these things.)


God began by making one man (Adam). From him God made all the different people. God made them to live everywhere in the world. God decided exactly when and where they must live.


God Most-High separated the people on earth and gave each nation its own land. God set up borders for those people. He made as many nations as there are angels. [211]
