But God did not forget about Noah. God remembered Noah and all the animals that were with him in the boat. God made a wind blow over the earth. And all the water began to disappear.


You make the springs and rivers flow.\par And you make the rivers become dry.\par


The Lord led the way. During the day, the Lord used a tall cloud to lead the people. And during the night, the Lord used a tall column of fire to lead the way. This fire gave them light so they could also travel at night.


I will destroy the hills and mountains.\par I will dry up all the plants that grow there.\par I will change rivers to dry land.\par I will dry up pools of water.\par


The Lord will make roads through the sea. Even through rough waters he will make a path for his people. And the Lord says,


I came home and found no one there.\par I called and called,\par but no one answered.\par Do you think I am not able to save you?\par I have the power to save you\par from all of your troubles.\par Look, if I command the sea to dry up,\par then it will become dry!\par The fish will die without water,\par and their bodies will rot.\par

The Lord led Moses by the right hand.\par The Lord used his wonderful power\par to lead Moses.\par The Lord divided the water\par so that the people could walk\par through the sea.\par The Lord made his name famous\par by doing those great things.\par


Sword, strike the waters of Babylon.\par Those waters will be dried up.\par Babylon has many, many idols.\par Those idols show\par that the people of Babylon are foolish.\par So bad things will happen to those people.\par


The places where people cross the rivers\par have been captured.\par The swamplands are burning.\par All of Babylon’s soldiers are afraid.”\par


So the Lord says:\par “I will defend you, Judah.\par I will make sure\par that Babylon is punished.\par I will dry up Babylon’s sea.\par And I will make her water springs\par become dry.\par


\{It will be like it was before, when God brought them out of Egypt.\} He hit the sea waves, \{the sea split,\} and the people walked across that sea of troubles. The Lord will make the river streams become dry. He will destroy Assyria’s pride and Egypt’s power.)


The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. The water in the river was dried up. This prepared the way for the rulers from the east to come.
