Those people can’t be trusted—they lie and cheat. But your wisdom and understanding will keep you away from all these things.


Listen, there is a person shouting!\par “Prepare a way in the desert for the Lord!\par Make the road in the desert level\par for our God!\par


Then, the Glory of the Lord {\cf2\super [373]} \par will be revealed (shown).\par And together, all people\par will see the Lord’s Glory.\par Yes, the Lord himself said these things!”\par


Deserts and cities, villages of Kedar, {\cf2\super [382]} \par praise the Lord!\par People living in Sela, sing for joy!\par Sing from the top of your mountain.\par


“\{Cyrus, your armies will march,\}\par and I will go in front of you.\par I will make the mountains flat.\par I will break the city gates of bronze.\par I will cut the iron bars on the gates.\par


“I will make a road for my people.\par The mountains will be made flat,\par and the low roads will be raised.\par

Every valley will be filled.\par And every mountain and hill\par will be made flat.\par Roads with turns will be made straight.\par And rough roads will be made smooth.\par


The Lord raises poor people from the dust. He takes away their sadness. [22] The Lord makes poor people important. He seats them with princes and at the places for honored guests. The Lord made the whole world! And the whole world belongs to him! [23]
