God, you are a hiding place for me.\par You protect me from my troubles.\par You surround me and protect me.\par So I sing about the way you saved me.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [201]})\i0 \par


My heart breaks as I remember\par \{the good times I had at the temple\}:\par \{I remember\} passing through the crowds\par as I led them all up to God’s temple.\par \{I remember\} the happy songs of praise\par as the crowds celebrated the festivals.\par


Why should I be so sad?\par Why should I be so upset?\par I should wait for God’s help.\par I will get the chance to praise him yet.\par He will save me!\par


At that time, you will say:\par “I praise you Lord!\par You have been angry at me.\par But don’t be angry with me now!\par Show your love to me.”\par


This will happen because you have forgotten the God who saves you. You have not remembered that God is your place of safety.


Many people will go there. They will say, “Come! Let’s go up to the Lord’s mountain. Let’s go up to the temple of the God of Jacob. Then God will teach us his way of living. And we will follow him.”


At that time, people will sing this song in Judah:

The Lord’s breath (Spirit) is like a great river—rising until it reaches the throat. The Lord will judge the nations. There will be sounds of joy and happiness. There will be the happy sounds of a bride and groom. There will be the sounds of people bringing their gifts to the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [278]} Those people will say, ‘Praise the Lord All-Powerful! The Lord is good! The Lord’s kindness continues forever!’ The people will say these things because I will again do good things to Judah. It will be like in the beginning.” The Lord said these things.


It will be a special day of rest for you. You must not eat food. [411] You will start this special day of rest on the evening following the ninth day of the month. [412] This special day of rest continues from that evening until the next evening.”

Enjoy yourselves at this festival—you, your sons, your daughters, all your servants, and the Levites, [106] foreigners, orphans, [107] and widows [108] living in your towns.


You must sacrifice the Passover animal only at the place that the Lord your God will choose to be his special house. There you must sacrifice the Passover animal in the evening when the sun goes down. This is the holiday when you remember that God brought you out of Egypt.
