8 But it will also be like a dream to those armies. They will not get what they want. It will be like a hungry man dreaming about food. When the man wakes up, he is still hungry. It will be like a thirsty man dreaming about water. When the man wakes up, he is still thirsty.

Then the Lord sent an angel to the king of Assyria’s camp. That angel killed all the soldiers and the leaders and the officers in the Assyrian army. So the king of Assyria went back home to his own country, and his people were ashamed of him. He went into the temple of his god and some of his own sons killed him there with a sword.


The people who hated Zion {\cf2\super [615]} were defeated.\par They stopped fighting and ran away.\par


Lord, those people will be like a dream\par that we forget when we wake up.\par You will make those people disappear\par like the monsters in our dreams.\par


Look, some people are angry with you.\par But they will be shamed.\par Your enemies will be lost and disappear.\par


You will look for the people\par that were against you,\par but you will not be able to find them.\par The people that fought against you\par will disappear completely.\par


One worker uses his tools to heat iron over hot coals. This man uses his hammer to beat the metal, and the metal becomes a statue. This man uses his own powerful arms. But when the man becomes hungry, he loses his power. If the man does not drink water, he becomes weak.


“People will make weapons to fight against you, but those weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you. But every person that speaks against you will be shown to be wrong.”
