You made the people of Israel your very own people forever. And Lord, you became their God.


And if God lets me live, it will be\par because I was brave enough to speak.\par No evil person would dare\par meet God face to face.\par


That person is confident.\par He will not be afraid.\par He will defeat his enemies.\par


The Lord is my strength and victory song!\par The Lord saves me!\par


Lord, I thank you for answering my prayer.\par I thank you for saving me.\par


Lord, you are my Light and my Savior.\par I should not be afraid of anyone!\par The Lord is the place of safety for my life.\par So I will not be afraid of any person.\par


God made the mountains with his power.\par We see his power all around us.\par


He is our God.\par He is the God that saves us.\par The Lord our God saves us from death.\par


God will show that he defeated his enemies.\par God will punish the people who\par fought against him. {\cf2\super [397]} \par


Then they will know that you are God.\par They will know your name is YAHWEH.\par They will know that you, God Most-High,\par are the God of the whole world!\par


The Lord is my strength. He saves me, and I sing songs of praise to him. [96] The Lord is my God, and I praise him. The Lord is the God of my ancestors, [97] and I honor him.


My Master, the Lord All-Powerful, says, “My people living in Zion, {\cf2\super [121]} don’t be afraid of Assyria! {\cf2\super [122]} He will beat you like Egypt beat you in the past. It will be like Assyria is using a stick to hurt you.


This will happen because you have forgotten the God who saves you. You have not remembered that God is your place of safety.


But if any person comes to me for safety\par and wants to make peace with me,\par then let him come,\par and make peace with me.\par


\{If this would happen\}, then the king {\cf2\super [294]} would be like a place to hide from the wind and rain. It would be like having streams of water in a dry land. It would be like a cool shadow from a large rock in a hot land.


\{So I say:\}\par “The Lord saved me.\par So we will sing and play songs\par in the Lord’s temple all our lives.”\par


But Israel will be saved by the Lord.\par That salvation will continue forever.\par Never, never again will Israel be shamed.\par


The Lord made me in my mother’s body\par so I could be his servant,\par and lead Jacob and Israel back to him.\par The Lord will honor me.\par I will get my strength from my God.”\par


The people that respect the Lord also listen to his servant. That servant lives completely trusting in God without knowing what will happen. He truly trusts in the Lord’s name, and that servant depends on his God.


The Lord says,\par “I am the One who comforts you.\par So why should you be afraid of people?\par They are only people that live and die.\par They are only humans—\par they die the same as grass.”\par


“The Lord makes me very, very happy.\par My whole self is happy in my God.\par The Lord put the clothes of salvation on me.\par These clothes are like the nice clothes\par a man wears at his wedding.\par The Lord put the coat of goodness on me.\par This coat is like the beautiful clothes\par a woman wears at her wedding.\par


Listen, the Lord is speaking to all the faraway lands:\par “Tell the people of Zion: {\cf2\super [456]} \par Look, your Savior is coming.\par He is bringing your reward to you.\par He is bringing that reward with him.”\par


My people will be happy.\par They will rejoice forever and ever.\par Why? Because of what I will make.\par I will make a Jerusalem that is full of joy,\par and I will make them a happy people.\par


But \{God,\} my Master, will show you a sign:


In the time of that good ‘sprout,’\par the people of Judah will be saved.\par And Israel will live in safety.\par This will be his name:\par The Lord is our Goodness. {\cf2\super [182]} \par


It was foolish to worship idols on the hills.\par All the loud parties on the mountains\par were wrong.\par Surely the salvation of Israel\par comes from the Lord our God.\par


Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Their God has sent his angel and saved his servants from the fire! These three men trusted their God. They refused to obey my command and were willing to die instead of serving or worshiping any other god.


But I will show mercy to the nation of Judah. \{I will save the nation of Judah.\} I will not use the bow or the sword to save them. I will not use war horses and soldiers to save them. I will save them by my own power.” {\cf2\super [7]}


So be happy, people of Zion. {\cf2\super [18]} \par Be joyful in the Lord your God.\par He will be good and give you rain.\par He will send you the early rains\par and the late rains like before.\par


Salvation comes only from the Lord!\par “Lord, I will give sacrifices to you,\par and I will praise and thank you.\par I will make special promises to you,\par and I will do the things I promise.”\par


But I will still be glad in the Lord.\par I will rejoice in God my savior.\par


I am proud of the Good News. The Good News is the power God uses to save every person that believes—to save the Jews first, and also to save the non-Jews.


Without any doubt, the secret of our life of worship is great:


They shouted with a loud voice, “Victory belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
