Hebrews 8:1 - Easy To Read Version

1 Here is the point of what we are saying: We have a high priest {\cf2\super [76]} like we have been telling you about. That high priest now sits on the right side {\cf2\super [77]} of God’s throne in heaven.

Greatness, power, glory, victory, and honor\par belong to you!\par Why? Because everything in heaven and on earth\par belong to you;\par The kingdom belongs to you, Lord!\par You are the Head,\par the Ruler over everything.\par


\{And God is like that too!\}\par God’s golden glory shines\par from the Holy Mountain. {\cf2\super [78]} \par There is a bright light around God.\par


My soul, praise the Lord!\par Lord my God, you are very great!\par You are clothed with glory and honor.\par


The Lord said to my master,\par “Sit by me at my right side,\par while I put your enemies\par under your control. {\cf2\super [572]} ”\par


So other people learn about\par the great things you do, Lord.\par Those people learn how great and wonderful\par your kingdom is.\par


You led the king to victory\par and gave him great glory.\par You gave him honor and praise.\par


The people that are left will\par begin shouting.\par They will be louder than the noise\par from the ocean.\par They will be happy because of\par the Lord’s greatness.\par


Then \{the Ruler of Israel\} will stand\par in the power of the Lord and\par in the wonderful name\par of the Lord his God\par and feed \{the flock\}.\par They will live \{in peace\}\par because at that time, his greatness\par will reach to the ends of the earth. {\cf2\super [62]} \par


After the Lord Jesus said these things to the followers, he was carried up into heaven. There, Jesus sat at the right side of God.


I have the work of speaking for that Good News. I am doing that now, here in prison. Pray that when I tell people that Good News I will speak without fear like I should.


You were raised from death with Christ. So try to get the things in heaven. I mean the things where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.


And God never said this to an angel:


The Son shows the glory of God. He is a perfect copy of God’s nature. The Son holds everything together with his powerful command. The Son made people clean from their sins. Then he sat down at the right side {\cf2\super [2]} of the Great One (God) in heaven.


But Christ offered only one sacrifice for sins, and that sacrifice is enough for all time. Then Christ sat down at the right side of God.


We should always follow the example of Jesus. Jesus is the leader in our faith. And he makes our faith perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But Jesus accepted the shame of the cross like it was nothing. He did this because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.


For this reason Jesus had to be made like us his brothers and sisters in every way. Jesus became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest {\cf2\super [14]} in service to God. Then Jesus could bring forgiveness for the people’s sins.


So all of you should think about Jesus. God sent Jesus to us, and he is the high priest {\cf2\super [15]} of our faith. I tell you to think about him, my brothers and sisters, because God chose you to be his holy {\cf2\super [16]} people.


“I will let every person that wins the victory sit with me on my throne. It was the same with me. I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne.
