28 Moses prepared the Passover {\cf2\super [152]} and spread the blood \{on the doors\}. This blood was spread \{on the doors\} so that the Angel of Death {\cf2\super [153]} would not kill the firstborn {\cf2\super [154]} sons \{of the Jewish people\}. Moses did this because he had faith.

And don’t complain like some of those people did. Those people were killed by the angel that destroys.


You have come to Jesus—the One that brought the new agreement {\cf2\super [168]} from God to his people. You have come to the sprinkled blood {\cf2\super [169]} that tells us about better things than the blood of Abel. {\cf2\super [170]}


First, Moses {\cf2\super [111]} told all the people every commandment in the law. Then Moses took the blood of calves and mixed it with water. Then he used red wool and a branch of hyssop {\cf2\super [112]} to sprinkle the blood and water on the book of the law and on all the people.


God planned long ago to choose you by making you his holy people. {\cf2\super [2]} Making you holy is the Spirit’s {\cf2\super [3]} work. God wanted you to obey him and to be made clean by the blood (death) of Jesus Christ. Grace (kindness) and peace be yours more and more.
