Israel stayed there for a short time. While he was there, Reuben slept with Israel’s woman servant [214] Bilhah. Israel heard about this and was very angry.


So the servant obeyed. He rode out to the brothers and stopped them. The servant said the things to them that Joseph told him to say.


We brought back the money that we found in our sacks before. So surely we wouldn’t steal silver or gold from your master’s house.


Joab answered, “Hey, I don’t want to destroy anything! I don’t want to ruin your town.


Hazael said, I am not a powerful man! [99] I can’t do these great things!”


It is better to be respected than to be rich. A good name is more important than silver or gold.
