18 Then they began traveling back to the land of Canaan where his father lived. All the flocks of animals that Jacob owned walked ahead of them. He carried everything that he had gotten while he lived in Paddan Aram.

When Isaac was 40 years old he married Rebekah. Rebekah was from Paddan Aram. She was Bethuel’s daughter and the sister of Laban the Aramean.


After that Esau hated Jacob because of this blessing. Esau thought to himself, “My father will soon die, and there will be a time of sadness for him. But after that I will kill Jacob.”


and if I return in peace to my father’s house—if God does all these things—then the Lord will be my God.


So Jacob prepared for his trip. He put his sons and his wives on camels.


The messengers came back to Jacob and said, “We went to your brother Esau. He is coming to meet you. He has 400 men with him.”


There is a time to look for something,\par and a time to consider it lost.\par There is a time to keep things,\par and a time to throw things away.\par
