Ezra 3:12 - Easy To Read Version

12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and family leaders cried. Why? Because those older people had seen the first temple—\{and they remembered how beautiful it was\}. They cried out loud when they saw the new temple. They cried while many of the other people were happy and shouting.

The sound could be heard far away. All those people made so much noise that no person could tell the difference between the shouts of joy and the crying.


Then you will have a lot more\par than you had in the beginning!\par


He might cry when he carries\par the seeds out to the field,\par but he will be happy\par when he brings the harvest in!\par \par \par


Praise the Lord because he is good.\par Sing praises to our God.\par It is good and pleasant to praise him.\par


Precious Judah, don’t be afraid!\par My dear {\cf2\super [377]} people of Israel, don’t be scared!\par I really will help you.”\par


The smallest family will become\par a large family group.\par The smallest family will become\par a powerful nation.\par When the time is right,\par I, the Lord, will come quickly.\par I will make these things happen.”\par

“How many of you people look at this temple {\cf2\super [6]} and try to compare it to the beautiful temple that was destroyed? What do you think? Does this temple seem like nothing when you compare it with the first temple?


People will not be ashamed of the small beginnings, and they will be very happy when they see Zerubbabel with the plumbline, {\cf2\super [7]} measuring and checking the finished building. Now, the seven sides {\cf2\super [8]} of the stone you saw represent the eyes of the Lord looking in every direction. They see everything on earth.”
