Manasseh also made a statue of an idol and put it in God’s temple—the very same temple that God had talked about to David and his son Solomon. God had said, “I will put my name in this house and in Jerusalem—the city that I chose from \{all the cities in\} all the family groups—\{and my name will be there\} forever!
Then I saw something that looked like an arm. The arm reached out and grabbed me by the hair on my head. Then the wind {\cf2\super [60]} lifted me into the air. And in God’s vision, {\cf2\super [61]} he took me to Jerusalem. He took me to the inner gate—the gate that is on the north side. The statue that makes God jealous is by that gate.
The other people \{on the earth\} were not killed by these bad things. But these people still did not change their hearts and lives and turn away from the things they had made with their own hands. They did not stop worshiping demons {\cf2\super [72]} and idols {\cf2\super [73]} made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—things that cannot see or hear or walk.
