May the Lord give you plenty of rain so you will have good crops and wine.


Isaac answered, “No, it’s too late. I gave Jacob the power to rule over you. And I said all his brothers will be his servants. And I have given him the blessing for much grain and wine. There is nothing left to give you son.”


“The Lord made a promise to my father David. The Lord said, ‘I will make your son king after you. And your son will build a temple to honor me.’ Now, I plan to build that temple to honor the Lord my God.


Praise God in the meeting place! {\cf2\super [398]} \par Praise the Lord, people of Israel!\par


Also, how will we know if you are pleased with me and these people? If you go with us, then we will know for sure! If you don’t go with us, then I and these people will be no different than any other people on the earth.”


Angry words from a king are like the roars of a lion. But compliments from him are like a gentle rain falling softly on the grass.


The Lord used his knowledge to make the oceans and the clouds that produce rain.


The Lord says,\par “Family of Jacob, listen to me!\par You people call yourself ‘Israel.’\par You are from Judah’s family.\par You use the Lord’s name to make promises.\par You praise the God of Israel.\par But you are not honest and sincere\par when you do these things.”\par


In the time of that good ‘sprout,’\par the people of Judah will be saved.\par And Israel will live in safety.\par This will be his name:\par The Lord is our Goodness. {\cf2\super [182]} \par


At the time of this ‘branch,’ the people of Judah will be saved. The people will live safely in Jerusalem. The branch’s name is: ‘The Lord is Good.’”


“There is a nation that feels safe.\par That nation feels secure.\par That nation does not have gates\par or fences to protect it.\par No people live near them.\par


“And I will make a peace agreement with my sheep. I will take harmful animals away from the land. Then the sheep can be safe in the desert and sleep in the woods.


People will move there to live. No enemy will come to destroy them any more. Jerusalem will be safe.


“These people will plant in peace. Their grapevines will produce grapes. The land will give good crops, and the skies will give rain. I will give all these things to these, my people.


I see those people from the mountain. I see them from the high hills. Those people live alone. They are not part of another nation.


But the land that you will soon get is not like that. In Israel there are mountains and valleys. And the land gets its water from the rain that falls from the sky.


But you will go across the Jordan River and live in that land. The Lord is giving that land to you. And the Lord will give you rest from all your enemies. You will be safe.


My teachings will come like the rain, like a mist falling {to the ground}, like a gentle rain on the soft grass, like rain on the green plants.


God Most-High separated the people on earth and gave each nation its own land. God set up borders for those people. He made as many nations as there are angels. [211]
