Acts 16:13 - Easy To Read Version

13 On the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [336]} we went out the city gate to the river. At the river we thought we might find a special place for prayer. Some women had gathered there. So we sat down and talked with them.

Many, many people gathered around Jesus. So Jesus got into a boat and sat down. All the people stayed on the shore.


Jesus said to the followers, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News {\cf2\super [240]} to every person.


Jesus taught in one of the synagogues {\cf2\super [234]} on the Sabbath day. {\cf2\super [235]}


Early in the morning Jesus went back to the temple {\cf2\super [128]} area. All the people came to Jesus. Jesus sat and taught the people.


They continued their trip from Perga and went to Antioch, a city near Pisidia. In Antioch on the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [255]} they went into the Jewish synagogue {\cf2\super [256]} and sat down.


While Paul and Barnabas were leaving \{the synagogue {\cf2\super [273]} \}, the people asked Paul and Barnabas to \{come again\} on the next Sabbath day {\cf2\super [274]} and tell them more about these things.


One time something happened to us while we were going to the place for prayer. A servant girl met us. She had a special spirit {\cf2\super [338]} in her. This spirit gave her the power to tell what would happen in the future. By doing this she earned a lot of money for the men who owned her.


Paul and the men with him went through the countries of Phrygia and Galatia. The Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [331]} did not allow them to tell the Good News {\cf2\super [332]} in the country of Asia. {\cf2\super [333]}


Paul went into this synagogue to see the Jews. This is what he always did. Every Sabbath day {\cf2\super [345]} for three weeks Paul talked with the Jews about the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [346]}


Every Sabbath day {\cf2\super [359]} Paul talked with the Jews and Greeks in the synagogue. {\cf2\super [360]} Paul tried to persuade these people \{to believe in Jesus\}.


On Sunday, {\cf2\super [397]} we all met together to eat \{the Lord’s Supper\}. {\cf2\super [398]} Paul talked to the group. He was planning to leave the next day. Paul continued talking until midnight.


But when we finished our visit, we left. We continued our trip. All the followers \{of Jesus\}, even the women and children, came outside the city with us to say good-bye. We all kneeled down on the beach and prayed.


Soon he began to go to the synagogues {\cf2\super [193]} and tell people about Jesus. He told the people, “Jesus is the Son of God!”


Christ will do this if you continue to believe in the Good News {\cf2\super [7]} you heard. You must continue strong and sure in your faith. You must not be moved away from the hope that Good News gave you. That same Good News has been told to all people in the world. I, Paul, help in telling that Good News.
