2 Kings 11:19 - Easy To Read Version

19 The priest led all the people. They went from the Lord’s temple to the king’s house. The king’s special guards and the captains went with the king. And all the other people followed them. They went to the entrance to the king’s house. Then King Joash sat on the throne.

The Midianite traders later sold Joseph in Egypt. They sold him to Potiphar, the captain of the Pharaoh’s guards.


Go to King David and say to him, ‘My lord and king, you made a promise to me. You promised that my son Solomon would be the next king after you. So why is Adonijah becoming the new king?’


So king Rehoboam made more shields to put in their places. But these shields were made from bronze, {not gold}. He gave the shields to the men who were guarding the palace gates.


Then Solomon sat on the Lord’s throne as king. Solomon took his father’s place. Solomon was very successful. All the people of Israel obeyed Solomon.


Jehoiada put guards at the gates of the Lord’s temple so that a person who was not clean in anything could not enter the temple.


Jehoiada took the army captains, the leaders, the rulers of the people, and all the people of the land with him. Then Jehoiada took the king out of the Lord’s temple, {\cf2\super [270]} and they went through the Upper Gate to the king’s house. In that place they put the king on the throne.


And one-third of you will be at the king’s house. And one-third of you will be at the Foundation Gate. But all the other people will stay in the yards of the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [258]}


“If you obey this command, then kings that sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of Jerusalem. Those kings will come riding on chariots {\cf2\super [144]} and on horses. The leaders of the people of Judah and Jerusalem will be with those kings. And Jerusalem will have people living in it forever!


The Lord says,\par “Write this down about Jehoiachin:\par ‘He is a man that has no children anymore!\par Jehoiachin will not be successful\par in his lifetime.\par And none of his children\par will sit on the throne of David.\par None of his children\par will rule in Judah.’”\par


If you obey these commands, then this is what will happen: kings that sit on David’s throne will continue to come through the gates into the city of Jerusalem. Those kings will come through the gates with their officials. Those kings, their officials, and their people will come riding in chariots {\cf2\super [173]} and on horses.


Jesus said to the followers, “I tell you the truth. When the new world is made, the Son of Man {\cf2\super [270]} will sit on his great throne. And all of you that followed me will also sit on thrones. You will sit on twelve thrones and you will judge the twelve family groups of Israel. {\cf2\super [271]}


“The Son of Man {\cf2\super [388]} will come again. He will come with great glory. All his angels will come with him. He will be king and sit on his great throne.
