The priests and the Levites stood up and asked the Lord to bless the people. God heard them. Their prayer came up to the Lord’s holy home in heaven.


“A person might be accused of doing something wrong against another person. When that happens, the accused person will have to use your name to promise \{that he is innocent\}. When he comes to make the promise in front of your altar {\cf2\super [103]} in the temple,


When this happens, hear in heaven. Heaven is your home. Accept their prayers when they beg for help. And help them. Forgive your people who have sinned against you.


God, I look up and pray to you.\par You sit as king in heaven.\par


Be careful when you make promises to God. Be careful about the things you say to God. Don’t let your feelings cause you to speak too soon. God is in heaven, and you are on the earth. So you need to say only a few things to God. This saying is true:


The Lord said, “I will be in the place prepared for me. {\cf2\super [185]} I will quietly watch these things happen:


“I, I am the One who wipes away all your sins. I do this to please myself. I will not remember your sins.


Your sins were like a big cloud.\par But I wiped away those sins.\par Your sins are gone,\par like a cloud that disappeared into thin air.\par I rescued and protected you,\par so come back to me!”\par


God is high and lifted up.\par God lives forever.\par God’s name is holy.\par God says:\par I live in a high and holy place,\par but also with people that are\par sad and humble.\par I will give new life to the people\par that are humble in spirit.\par I will give new life to the people\par that are sad in their hearts.\par


Lord, listen to me! Lord, forgive us! Lord, pay attention, and then do something! Don’t wait! Do something now! Do it for your own good! My God, do something now, for your city and your people that are called by your name.”


There is no God like you.\par You take away people’s guilt.\par


Forgive the sins we have done,\par the same as we have forgiven the people\par that did wrong to us.\par
