7 Don’t be like your fathers or your brothers. The Lord was their God, but they turned against him. So the Lord made people hate them and speak evil about them. You can see with your own eyes that this is true.
7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
7 Do not be like your fathers and brethren, who were unfaithful to the Lord, the God of their fathers, so that He gave them up to desolation [to be an astonishment], as you see.

7 Don’t be like your ancestors and relatives, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror as you can see for yourselves.
7 Do not choose to be like your fathers and brothers, who withdrew from the Lord, the God of their fathers. And so he delivered them over to destruction, as you yourselves discern.
They told Uzziah he was wrong. They said to him, “Uzziah, it is not your job to burn incense to the Lord. It is not good for you to do this. The priests and Aaron’s descendants {\cf2\super [301]} are the ones that burn incense to the Lord. These priests were trained for holy service to burn incense. Go out of the Most Holy Place. {\cf2\super [302]} You have not been faithful. The Lord God will not honor you for this!”
So, the Lord became very angry at the people of Judah and Jerusalem. The Lord punished them. Other peoples became afraid and were shocked when they saw what the Lord did to the people of Judah and Jerusalem. Those other people shook their heads with hate and shame for the people of Judah. You know these things are true. You can see with your own eyes.
If the people teach their God’s commands\par to their children,\par then the children will not be like\par their ancestors. {\cf2\super [444]} \par Their ancestors turned against God.\par They refused to obey him.\par Those people were stubborn.\par They were not loyal to God’s Spirit.\par
\{God said,\} “\{The people of Israel did all those bad things.\} So speak to the family of Israel. Tell them, ‘The Lord my Master says these things: You people have made yourselves filthy by doing the things your ancestors {\cf2\super [147]} did. You have acted like a prostitute. {\cf2\super [148]} You have left me to be with the horrible gods your ancestors worshiped.
