Every time the king went to the Lord’s temple, the guards went with him. They carried the shields. After they were finished, they put the shields back on the wall in the guard room.


King Rehoboam made bronze shields to take the place of the gold shields. Rehoboam gave the bronze shields to the commanders who were responsible for guarding the entrance to the king’s house.


When Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord turned his anger away from Rehoboam. So the Lord did not fully destroy Rehoboam. There was some good in Judah.
