Elijah answered, “Lord God All-Powerful, I have always served you the best I can. But the people of Israel have broken their agreement with you. They destroyed your altars. They killed your prophets. I am the only prophet that is still living. And now they are trying to kill me!”

So the prophet wrapped his face with a cloth. This way, no person could see who he was. The prophet went and waited for the king by the road.


“Lord, the people have killed your prophets {\cf2\super [117]} and destroyed your altars. {\cf2\super [118]} I am the only prophet still living. And the people are trying to kill me now.” {\cf2\super [119]}
