1 Corinthians 7:29 - Easy To Read Version

29 Brothers and sisters, this is what I mean: We don’t have much time left. So starting now, people who have wives should use their time \{to serve the Lord\} like they don’t have wives.

Who knows what is best for a person during his short life on earth? His life passes like a shadow. No one can tell him what will happen later.


Every time you find work to do, do it the best you can. In the grave there is no work. There is no thinking, no knowledge, and there is no wisdom. And we are all going to that \{place of death\}.


People far away will die from disease. People near this place will be killed with swords. And the people that are left in the city will starve to death. Only then will I stop being angry.


A third man said, ‘I just got married; I can’t come.’


But if you decide to marry, that is not a sin. And it is not a sin for a girl that has never married to get married. But those people who marry will have trouble in this life. I want you to be free from this trouble.


People who are sad should live like they are not sad. People who are happy should live like they are not happy. People who buy things should live like they own nothing.


People who use the things of the world should live like those things are not important to them. You should live like this, because this world, the way it is now, will soon be gone.


The Scripture {\cf2\super [12]} says,


The time is near when all things will end. So keep your minds clear, and control yourselves. This will help you to pray.


The world is passing away. And all the things that people want in the world are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever.
