Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.


The earth shook and trembled: the foundations of the mountains were troubled and were moved, because he was angry with them.


Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.


Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.


Be subject to the Lord and pray to him Envy not the man who prospereth in his way; the man who doth unjust things.


Unto the end, destroy not, for David, for an inscription of a title.


The praise of a canticle for David. He that dwelleth in the aid of the most High, shall abide under the protection of the God of Jacob.


As the apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow, whom I desired: and his fruit was sweet to my palate.


Because thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the blast of the mighty is like a whirlwind beating against a wall.


And a man shall be as when one is hid from the wind, and hideth himself from a storm: as rivers of waters in drought, and the shadow of a rock that standeth out in a desert land.


And he shall be a sanctification to you: but for a stone or stumbling and for a rock of offence to the two houses of Israel, for a snare and a ruin to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.


Res. The breath of our mouth, Christ the Lord, is taken in our sins: to whom we said: Under thy shadow we shall live among the Gentiles.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Because I have removed them far off among the Gentiles and because I have scattered them among the countries, I will be to them a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.


And it answered them: If indeed you mean to make me king, come ye and rest under my shadow. But if you mean it not, let fire come out from the bramble, and devour the cedars of Libanus.
