And Nabuzardan the commander of the army carried away the rest of the people that remained in the city, and the fugitives that had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the common people.


If I shall walk in the midst of tribulation, thou wilt quicken me: and thou hast stretched forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies: and thy right hand hath saved me.


For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.


Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.


Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps,


Because thou hast said: The two nations, and the two lands shall be mine, and I will possess them by inheritance: whereas the Lord was there.


And they have cast lots upon my people: and the boy they have put in the stews, and the girl they have sold for wine, that they might drink.


Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.


Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren.


Yet she also was removed and carried into captivity: her young children were dashed in pieces at the top of every street, and they cast lots upon her nobles, and all her great men were bound in fetters.


This shall befall them for their pride: because they have blasphemed, and have been magnified against the people of the Lord of hosts.
