But we will certainly do every word that shall proceed out of our own mouth, to sacrifice to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we and our fathers have done, our kings, and our princes in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem: and we were filled with bread, and it was well with us, and we saw no evil.


And if we offer sacrifice to the queen of heaven and pour out drink-offerings to her: did we make cakes to worship her, to pour out drink-offerings to her, without our husbands?


And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt-offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their ignorance.


And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned ignorantly before the Lord: and he shall obtain his pardon, and it shall be forgiven him.


If the wife in the house of her husband, hath bound herself by vow and by oath:


But if forthwith he gainsay it, she shall not be bound by the promise: because her husband gainsaid it, and the Lord will be merciful to her.


Whatsoever she promised and swore, she shall fulfil in deed.


The day that her husband shall hear it, and not gainsay it, she shall be bound to the vow, and shall give whatsoever she promised.


But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.


And Elcana her husband said to her: Do what seemeth good to thee, and stay till thou wean him; and I pray that the Lord may fulfil his word. So the woman stayed at home, and gave her son suck, till she weaned him.
