And let them exalt him in the church of the people: and praise him in the chair of the ancients.


I have heard the murmuring of the children of Israel. Say to them: In the evening you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall have your fill of bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.


And all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.


And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord. For he hath heard your murmurings against the Lord: but as for us, what are we, that you mutter against us?


And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying:


Be not rebellious against the Lord. And fear ye not the people of this land, for we are able to eat them up as bread. All aid is gone from them. The Lord is with us: fear ye not.


And had drawn up all the multitude against them to the door of the tabernacle: the glory of the Lord appeared to them all.


And when they had stood up against Moses and Aaron, they said: Let it be enough for you, that all the multitude consisteth of holy ones, and the Lord is among them. Why lift you up yourselves above the people of the Lord?


And when there arose a sedition, and the tumult increased,


And speaking against God end Moses, they said: Why didst thou bring us out of Egypt, to die in the wilderness? There is no bread, nor have we any waters: our soul now loatheth this very light food.
