And blessed be the most high God, by whose protection the enemies are in thy hands. And he gave him the tithes of all.


That you may have corn. The fifth part you shall give to the king: the other four you shall have for seed, and for food for your families and children.


From that time unto this day, in the whole land of Egypt, the fifth part is paid to the king: and it is become as a law, except the land of the priests, which was free from this covenant.


They brought in faithfully both the first-fruits, and the tithes, and all they had vowed. And the overseer of them was Chonenias the Levite; and Semei his brother was the second,


All that could understand promising for their brethren, with their chief men. And they came to promise and swear that they would walk in the law of God, which he gave in the hand of Moses the servant of God: that they would do and keep all the commandments of the Lord our God, and his judgments and his ceremonies.


And that we would bring the first-fruits of our meats, and of our libations, and the fruit of every tree, of the vintage also and of oil to the priests, to the storehouse of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites. The Levites also shall receive the tithes of our works out of all the cities.


And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites in the tithes of the Levites; and the Levites shall offer the tithe of their tithes in the house of our God, to the storeroom into the treasure house.


And they kept the watch of their God, and the observance of expiation. And the singing men, and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.


And all Juda brought the tithe of the corn, and the wine, and the oil into the storehouses.


And he made him a great storeroom, where before him they laid up gifts, and frankincense, and vessels, and the tithes of the corn, of the wine, and of the oil, the portions of the Levites, and of the singing men, and of the porters, and the first-fruits of the priests.


And you shall know that I sent you this commandment, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.


Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and try me in this, saith the Lord: if I open not unto you the flood-gates of heaven, and pour you out a blessing even to abundance.


I have given you your brethren, the Levites, from among the children of Israel, and have delivered them for a gift to the Lord, to serve in the ministries of the tabernacle.


Bring the tribe of Levi, and make them stand in the sight of Aaron the priest to minister to him. And let them watch,


And thou shalt separate a portion to the Lord from them that fought and were in the battle: one soul of five hundred as well of persons as of oxen and asses and sheep.


And let him that is instructed in the word, communicate to him that instructeth him, in all good things.


He shall receive the same portion of food that the rest do: besides that which is due to him in his own city, by succession from his fathers.


And indeed they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is to say, of their brethren: though they themselves also came out of the loins of Abraham.
