Extend thy mercy to them that know thee, and thy justice to them that are right in heart.


He shall cast death down headlong forever. And the Lord God shall wipe away tears from every face. And the reproach of his people he shall take away from off the whole earth. For the Lord hath spoken it.


Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men and be not afraid of their blasphemies.


Hear the word of the Lord, you that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hate you and cast you out for my name's sake have said: Let the Lord be glorified and we shall see in your joy. But they shall be confounded.


Wherefore the princes were angry with Jeremias, and they beat him and cast him into the prison that was in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for he was chief over the prison.


And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles:


And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.


It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the goodman of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?


He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it.


And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.


Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall put you to death: and you shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake.


And they that passed by, blasphemed him, wagging their heads,


And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake. But he that shall endure unto the end, he shall be saved.


But look to yourselves. For they shall deliver you up to councils, and in the synagogues you shall be beaten, and you shall stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony unto them.


And they have no root in themselves, but are only for a time: and then when tribulation and persecution ariseth for the word they are presently scandalized.


For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel, shall save it.


But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for my name's sake.


And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake.


Blessed shall you be when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.


For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; for he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall save it.


But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake: because they know not him who sent me.


They reviled him therefore, and said: Be thou his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.


For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.


(As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)


We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honourable, but we without honour.


For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake; that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our mortal flesh.


For unto you it is given for Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.


Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not: but delivered himself to him that judged him unjustly.


If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you.


And thou hast patience, and hast endured for my name, and hast not fainted.
