And when it was now noon, Elias jested at them, saying: Cry with a louder voice; for he is a God, and perhaps he is talking, or is in an inn, or on a journey; or perhaps he is asleep, and must be awaked.


Rejoice therefore, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart be in that which is good in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: and know that for all these God will bring thee into judgment.


But Jesus said: Go ye into the city to a certain man, and say to him: the master saith, My time is near at hand, with thee I make the pasch with my disciples.


You know that after two days shall be the pasch, and the son of man shall be delivered up to be crucified:


And leaving them, he went again: and he prayed the third time, saying the selfsame word.


Rise, let us go: behold he is at hand that will betray me.


And when he was gone forward a little, he fell flat on the ground; and he prayed, that if it might be, the hour might pass from him.


When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.


But Jesus answered them, saying: The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.


Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause I came unto this hour.


BEFORE the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.


THESE things Jesus spoke, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.
