The sceptre shall not be taken away from Juda, nor a ruler from his thigh, till he come that is to be sent: and he shall be the expectation of nations.


And the king said to Siba: What mean these things? And Siba answered: The asses are for the king's household to sit on: and the loaves and the figs for thy servants to eat: and the wine to drink if any man be faint in the desert.


He said to them: Take with you the servants of your lord, and set my son Solomon upon my mule, and bring him to Gihon.


And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen, and he had a thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horseman. And he bestowed them in fenced cities, and with the king in Jerusalem.


Have mercy on me, O Lord: see my humiliation which I suffer from my enemies.


Rejoice, and praise, O thou habitation of Sion: for great is he that is in the midst of thee, the Holy One of Israel.


Get thee up upon a high mountain, thou that bringest good tidings to Sion. Lift up thy voice with strength, thou that bringest good tidings to Jerusalem. Lift it up: fear not. Say to the cities of Juda: Behold your God.


Behold, the Lord hath made it to be heard in the ends of the earth. Tell the daughter of Sion: Behold, thy Saviour cometh. Behold, his reward is with him and his work before him.


And I the Lord will be their God: and my servant David the prince in the midst of them: I the Lord have spoken it.


And my servant David shall be king over them, and they shall have one shepherd: they shall walk in my judgments, and shall keep my commandments, and shall do them.


And I will have mercy on the house of Juda, and I will save them by the Lord their God: and Iwill not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.


AND THOU, BETHLEHEM Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda: out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity.


Out of Jacob shall he come that shall rule, and shall destroy the remains of the city.


Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.


Saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to adore him.


And thou Bethlehem the land of Juda art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come forth the captain that shall rule my people Israel.


And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them.


And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures, the things that were concerning him.


Nathanael answered him, and said: Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.


Now I Paul myself beseech you, by the mildness and modesty of Christ, who in presence indeed am lowly among you, but being absent, am bold toward you.


And when he is made king, he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor lead back the people into Egypt, being lifted up with the number of his horsemen: especially since the Lord hath commanded you to return no more the same way.


And he had forty sons, and of them thirty grandsons, mounted upon seventy ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.


Speak, you that ride upon fair asses, and you that sit in judgment, and walk in the way.
