Of the nations concerning which the Lord said to the children of Israel: You shall not go in unto them, neither shall any of them come in to yours; for they will most certainly turn away your heart to follow their gods. And to these was Solomon joined with a most ardent love.

Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.


Let love be without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good.


Or know you not, that he who is joined to a harlot, is made one body? For they shall be, saith he, two in one flesh.


But for fear of fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
