Wash yourselves, be clean, take away the evil of your devices from my eyes: cease to do perversely,


And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye wine.


Wash thy heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that thou mayst be saved. How long shall hurtful thoughts abide in thee?


Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you make clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within you are full of rapine and uncleanness.


Thou blind Pharisee, first make clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside may become clean.


And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it.


For leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups: and many other things you do like to these.
