The Lord keepeth the strangers, he will support the fatherless and the widow: and the ways of sinners he will destroy.


Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.


Who said to him: Why asketh thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.


And when he was gone forth into the way, a certain man running up and kneeling before him, asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may receive life everlasting?


Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, bear not false witness, do no fraud, honour thy father and mother.


And Jesus said to him: Why dost thou call me good? None is good but God alone.


All have turned out of the way; they are become unprofitable together: there is none that doth good, there is not so much as one.


Every best gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration.


And we have known, and have believed the charity, which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity, abideth in God, and God in him.


He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is charity.


There is none holy as the Lord is: for there is no other beside thee, and there is none strong like our God.
